Capitol, Pickwick and Columbia Masterworks were major records labels that also branched out into the blank cassette market in the early '70s.
It didn't dawn on them that they were contributing to their own profitability problems until the mid '70s when home taping began making itself established. Almost simultaneously in 1977, these cassettes disappeared.......
Actually, they should've kept it up. If you can't stop folks from taping at home, you can make a buck selling them their "blanks."
