The tangents were just too much for my brain to process (and they still are.)<br /><br />Now that you mention it, I think a post on TV sign-offs is long overdue. I haven't seen a local TV station sign off regularly every night since 1989. I remember they usually shut down nightly around 2am. But the BIG $$$ from those infomercials made 24/7 broadcasting pretty much standard in TV. (Normally the station would shut down for the night at that point...yes they still did that in 1987.) I saw it several times and thought I was having an acid flashback. My colleague at the comedy TV show we did at the student TV station also saw it, and wrote an epic sketch, "Santogoldfinger," combining Santo Gold and James Bond.
